Hi all,
I know we have addressed this issue in different forms, but I need some clarification.

I currently have a database that has 8 users. It tracks jobs and assigns. The database is not open unless you need to add a job or update a job. The issue I am having is when the users are in it, it will tell them it's not saving any updates to the record if someone else happens to be in it updating their own record (in the same table).

I have split the database at this point and am testing it, but I wondered if there was a better way or if I am missing something. I have been told that Access is not good for multi users. I don't remember having this issue before though.

Try going into Tools - Options - Advanced and set Default Record Locking to Edited Record. Make sure that Open database using record-level locking is also ticked.

thanks! I will give that a shot today. I didn't have the Default Record Locking set to Edited.

Also, can you tell me, was I right that if I split that database, it should elevate at least some of the issue? Still curious.

Again much appreciated. Everyone on this site is so helpful.
