Multi User Lock Down for IE6 1

Hi All,

How can I lock down IE6 for all users (with some allowed addresses bypassed) without logging in as each user? This will only be on one compter with XP Sp2. I know how to do it per person, and then hide the connections tab, but this machine has 10 users...and I don't know their passwords. Thanks in advance!

There's a few ways you could do it, group policy, registry settings, 3rd party software. How are you doing it per person now?

Thanks for the reply. Right now, if I needed to do this, I would go itno IE, connections-Lan Settings-Use a proxy server...- advanced- ports 80-then exceptions, if I needed to by pass the proxy for certain site. Then hide the connections tab with gpedit.msc. since this is just one machine that I need to do this on, I would prefer local to the machine. If I did a GP for the users, they would have problems on other machines. If I have to, I could lock down Internet for all users on this machine, but would prefer some exceptions if possible.

Wanting to give different users different privileges for that machine only could be a problem without using 3rd party software. And to be honest, I quite frankly think of a 'legit' way to do it off the top of my head.... haha.

However you could always write a logon script (for that machine only) to enable/disable the proxy settings, only disable the proxy if it's a certain user/group or what not. Be kinda simple and should do what you want.

Are you on a domain?
What privileges do the users have?
How many sites will be an exception?
