Have three companies all part of the same group...

Have been told should be able to setup email forwarding for the three sites but can't get it to work at the moment.

domaingroup.com as example, john.smith@domaingroup.com is in location 1, so have MX record and 'A' entry for location1.domaingroup.com and the ISP has a forward setup so on receiving email for john.smith@domaingroup.com forwards to john.smith@location1.domaingroup.com, record on exchange server at location1 only has the location1.domaingroup.com record but reply is john.smith@domaingroup.com.

Have the same sort of thing for location 2 and 3 but different users.

Have DNS entry and location1 and MX record for location1 all locations have entry of 30 for priory, anyone see where it's going wrong?
Thanks.

If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

Let's back up a sec and clarify: should all the mail get to the same mail server, or should the mail for the one domain be distributed to three different mail servers?

Assuming the latter, on the Exchange server, you need to add "location1.domaingroup.com" to the recipient policy on each server (if Exchange 2003) or accepted domains (if it is Exchange 2007/2010), but leave the default address as "domaingroup.com".
