Have a BCM400 4.0, customer wants to use a Norstar Audio Conferencing Unit (Polycom, digital port) to add more than the basic 3-person conference call using the "new call" (feature 807) functionality. We tested this and it will only allow the Polycom and two others to be in a conference.

Digital sets (7100, 7208, 7310, etc) work great..

Ideas?

I tell my customers to set up the conference on a digital phone, park it, then pick it up from the polycom. My customers find it much easier that way.

OK, I did some more research and this is what I found..

Norstar Audio Conferencing Unit (Polycom, BCM/Norstar Digital Port): NO CAN DO!!

Polycom Analog Conferencing Unit: Ad-Hoc conferencing can be done. Establish the conference call like normal. Then to add another person, press Hookflash 2 (you will not hear dial tone), then Hookflash *807 (you WILL hear dial tone), dial the person and when they answer, press Hookflash *3. Voila, new person in the conference. I think if the person doesn't answer, press Hookflash 2 to get back to original conference.

Polycom IP Conferencing Unit: This nifty device has soft-keys, and once a conference call is established, press the NEW CALL softkey (or feature 807), then feature *3 to join the new person.

Hope this helps, and if anyone else has useful info, pass it on..
