Is this possible?

One of the excellent things about FreeHand is the ability to create multi-page docs and then export them directly to PDF. Saves alot of time.

Is there anyway this can be done in Illustrator?

Parker:

You can tile a large art board, or buy a plugin from hotdoor for this purpose. Illustrator has no multipage capabilities (Although I'm unsure about CS2).

A flimsy workaround is to use an existing multipage pdf and change the page content page by page...but it is flimsy.

Yeah, CS2 tiles the same way.
More specifically, the way AI does multi page is by the artboard size like itchy said. So if you wanted 2 letter size pages, you would make the artboard 11x17 and in the print settings set the printer to Tile Full pages. Then double click on the Page Tool icon on the palette and under the hand tool.
AI will leave a phony border and page number on the artboard including the margins so you know where things will land.
