0x32mics5.0, nam4.0, Question is: 102 is the general delivery mail box, receptionist also wants personal mb (mb221) can I make ext221 the ext for both mailboxes so that she will have message notification when a message is left in either mb. or am I asking for trouble and confusion when her ext rings as to which mb will pick it up? Thanks in advance

That's scary. The general delivery mailbox is always 10 or 100 or 1000 depending upon your DN length. 102 would be the system coordinator mailbox and if you give someone that box you will be changing the password and settings for how you get into programming.

Remember you get into programming, F983, 102 0000???

So the general delivery mailbox is 100 and you can certainly assign it to her extension 221. Then you can build maibox 221. You will not be able to assign her extension to it but you can set the remote message notification to her ext. If someone has left a message in her mailbox, it will call her extension and tell her there's one in there.

The only way anyone would ever get to her mailbox though, would be if someone physically transferred a call (F986) into her personal box.

Her phone cannot distinguish between a personal call and a company call then forward it to the appropriate mailbox. It isn't quite that smart. MRoberts

100.....102.....whatever works......seriously though.....you're right the gd mb is 100. The receptionist at that site is go to drive me crazy! You know one of those people......."Iknow all about this phone sys. we had it at the last job I had and you could do that there", it doesn't matter what , it's always "We used to be able to do that". Thanks you confirmed what I thought....but sometimes the days get long and I begin to wonder What am I doing?
