Hello to all,
CM 7.1.3 with System and Session Manager. We are migrating multiple PBX's to one CM. I have searched through the threads and couldn't find a specific answer to my question. We have five sites that all have the same extension numbers. 1000-6000. We are unable to change these as some internal politics. I have read through several of the manuals and almost have the pieces put together but I'm missing one portion. OK here is the issue. All extensions will be built as 7 digits. Location 1 is hotel 1 and location 2 is hotel 2. Each of these hotels have guests that dial 7xxxx to reach the room number. If I have 5 hotels on the same CM all dialing the same numbers how do I configure the UDP per location? UDP will not allow me to enter 7 delete 1 insert L1 (Location 1) and then 7 delete 1 insert L2 (Location 2). It states duplicate entry. I know it is something stupid I'm missing. Thanks in advance.

Code:
change calltype analysis location 1 Page 1 of 4
                         CALL TYPE DIGIT ANALYSIS TABLE
                                  Location: 1

Dialed String Delete Insert Type Delete Insert Type
Match: 7 1: 0 20 ext 2:
 Length: Min 5 Max 5 3: 4:
Match: 1: 2:

kyle555,
Nice. So I would just add this in for each of my new locations. Location 1, Location 2 ECT.

Thank you,

My bad. That's for enbloc dialing - so manipulating strings from contacts or call logs. not straight dialed digits. So, if you dialed on hook and hit 'call' it'd kick in. but if you dialed from a dial tone, it wouldn't.

So, instead you'd hit dialplan analysis. So why not have UDP ship to AAR and then per-location AAR digit conversion would add the prefix and route to net 'ext' to get back to your extensions?

kyle555,
To clarify, the UDP should only have entries for the full seven digits correct? Any short dials go per location in the call type analysis.

So my uni would only be dialing to AAR. 1 min 7 max 7 del 0 aar and so on? Correct?

kyle555,
Yeh I was testing this and told me to pound sand. I saw something in the manual for UPD and L1, L2 and so on but it doesn't allow duplicate entries. I'll keep playing with it and post what I find. Maybe someone out here has the same config. I've heard this is common.

UDP can send to AAR/ARS and within there you have per location AAR/ARS digit conversion to insert what you want.

When you say each location will be built as 7 digit number is that because the Location prefix is 3 digits? So extension 1000 is say 1001000 in location 1 (location Prefix 100) then in "calltype analysis location 1" you could certainly recognize 7 del 1 insert 100 caltype ext.

We certainly use that in out multi location to make 4 digit numbers into 7 digit numbers or even to make 4 digits into full e164 with a type of ars.

bignose21,
Yes 4 digit is going away. All extensions will be 7. We have admin and guest phones. All guests will dial 7 and the room number so they dial 5 digits. We have to insert the first 3 to get it to the correct room in that location. So hotel 1 location 1 they dial 71000 and we delete 7 and insert 200 to make it 200-1000 and for hotel 2 location 2 they dial 71000 we delete the 7 insert 201-1000. I'm close but I'm still missing how to configure so if anyone knows please feel free to chime in.

Thank you,

We have that working as I mentioned above, so in dialplan entry 200 length 7 type ext. Then in "change calltype analysis location 1"

You can also enter any other type of dialing in there you want to make special
