Hi, I'm using CR2008 and trying to create a report to display the following:

Headers

Record A Field 1, Field 2, Field 3, Field 4.
Record B Field 1, Field 2, Field 3, Field 4.
Record C Field 1, Field 2, Field 3, Field 4.

New Headers

Record A Field 5, Field 6, Field 7, Field 8.
Record B Field 5, Field 6, Field 7, Field 8.
Record C Field 5, Field 6, Field 7, Field 8.

Only one file is being used. I can do this using a subreport. The problem is the main program is going to be a subreport of a larger program. I've tried creating a copy of the file and using it for the second group via a second detail area but it prints both detail area for each record. I've also tried printing the second area as a footer, but I only get the last record that way.

Any suggestions? Keep in mind I've only been using CR for about a month and there is a LOT I don't know.

Thanks,
Mike

You could add each section as a separate subreport within the final report.

That works in some cases. The problem I have there is in some cases I have 3 grades that would come out top part, top part, top part, then bottom part, bottom part, bottom part. I need top part (grade1) bottom part (grade1) then top part (grade2), bottom part (grade2), etc.

If you want help, you will need to be less abstract. Maybe you should identify your group fields in the final report and explain how the grade field relates to your initial sample data and also how that field fits into your final report.
