We have customer who used to have an analog system with four lines. When a call came in on line one, they would press line one to pick it up. When they placed it on hold everybody's line one would flash and anyone could pick up the call.
Okay, we've given then a wonderful new mitel with 4 BRI links, but they want us to setup the same thing with the Mitel as they had with the analog. Strange thing is that I can't do it. I've setup four Mulicall key appearances on a couple of handsets in our lab and called them line 1, line 2 etc etc, put them in a terminal hunt group and rang in.
The lines ring fine and all sets flash on line 1, any user can pickup the call, all good so far. Now the problem, the user puts the call on hold and it is held on the key and it illuminates on the holding set only. On the other sets the key light is extinguished and if I press it, it just opens up a new call. I've tried using DSS/BLF and Secretarial keys too.
Am I being stupid or is this really possible. I know this is a bad way to try and program a Mitel, but trust me, this IS what the customer wants.
