Hi I'm looking for a product suggestion and I know this is probably the best resource I've found over the years.
I have a new warehouse location that needs to have 2 doorphones with strike releases at front and back doors and an additional door strike in a “man cage” just beyond the back door.
I’ve used the ip500v2 ‘s relays in the past to signal a PROX reader boxes to manually open doors, but this is the first that I’m starting from scratch and may need to control more than two relays.
Ideally, the receptionist could use the phone or have a speaker box and a door release tided to the front door that was integrated into the V2. When she’s gone home anybody could pick up the phone to intercom door and release strike.
This scenario could also be mirrored for the warehouse guy and his back door except the additional need to open the man cage and there is no phone in warehouse, so speaker\release box is more critical then reception
I was initially hoping to get two identical intercom’s that would be stand alone and also integrate into an two analog ports on the combo card, and then possibly a third standalone button release for the man cage and maybe not integrate it. (security procedures for TSA state non employees need to be escorted, so triggering from office space may be a bad idea)
Questions I have are what units are available that work with Ipoffice R8 and Ip500v2. I have some confusion about FXO\FSO, Should I use the two internal relays or it seems some door releases systems use DTMF over the intercom call? If I use DTMF, then there isn’t a two relay limit anymore so I could integrate the cage, but it’s also more of a pain considering everybody has to initiate a call to process tones, while a phone button could easily trigger the internal relay if reception can identify person through cameras without need for a “Hi buzz me” call. Can any of the FXO type units also open the doors through a function button?
What do you think will work, sorry for my scattered brain thoughts.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read and suggest.
Regards,
Mike
