I am creating a report that has 2 groups and I want to have a running sum refresh after the first group but continue in the sub group. example:

Item #1 Running Sum
January
Detail 10 10
Detail 10 20
January totals 20
February
Detail 20 40
Detail 5 45
February Balance 45
Item #2
January
Detail 16 16

My running totals start over for each month. Can anyone help me?

Thanks!

Can you set the Running Sum property to "Over All"?

If I select running over all it does not reset on each item.

You could try setting a running sum of a Sum([yourfield]) in the Item group footer. Name it txtItemRunSum. Then in a text box in the detail section, subtract txtItemRunSum from your Over All run sum. This is just a WAG.
