I have a Pennsylvania client that needs access to the paging system in their Kentucky location using TIE lines.
Currently, the Kentucky location accesses internal paging by dialing *9 + the trunk line for paging (818). Our routers between the locations (PA &KY) cannot digest or understand *9 across the TIE lines, so I am looking for an alternative solution to allow the PA location to make a page in the KY location.
Please let me know if the following solution will work....is it possible to connect a PagePac (paging amplifier) to a digital MLX port that has an MFM (multi functioning module) attached to it? If I understand the MFM correctly it will allow any tip/ring device to be connected...what about a PagePac? If that will not work, do I need an analog card (012 or 016) to plug the PagePac directly into an analog port in order to program an analog extension? Our routers are only capable of intrepreting digits (no * or #).
Please advise or provide a working solution. Thanks!
