Many have encountered issues with the dBase DOS versions in the NT Windows series (2000, XP, 2003) where running dBase will slow down the Windows applications on the rest of the computer because DOS consumes so many resources, constantly polls the keyboard or whatever. Some use TameDOS, others like me have used command.com (raising Idle Sensitivity higher in the Misc tab property ) rather than the newer cmd.exe.
Well, I'd like to hear from others how dual-core or multi-core CPUs affect this issue. It doesn't seem to be a problem anymore on one system here using dBase 5 for DOS.
So getting a dual core computer may be a way to resolve those issues.
