Multi column report

I am a non user so before I layout good money on CR I would like to know if it is possible to create a multi-column report similar to a phone book or a yellow pages. The categories would have to be in columns and when the column is full it would have to continue at the top of the next column. The next category could start in the middle of the next column.

CR can do Multi-Columns including 'Down then accross' layout. It is good that you said that the next category can start in the middle of the page, because CR v8.5 can't do Column breaks by category - only page breaks.

Also, In terms of a phone directory style layout, CR can only do half of the running heads (first record of each page at the top). It can't print the last record of a page at the top, but can at the bottom of each page. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting
