I am not sure my subject line is the best match for my question, but I will try to explain.

I usually work with several browser windows open at the same time. I often will be developing and testing a web page in one browser window, while searching the web for tips, tricks, and/or how tos in another window. You get the idea.

So, I will hit off a search at micorsoft's developer, network for example. From experience, I know that it may take a few moments for the results to come back, so I decide to flip back to my other browser window for some development time. While I am working in the other browser window it looses focus and the browser, with the search results, will become active and gain focus as that page is loading.

This is not a show stopper, however it is most annoying. Can anyone help me fix this? Or can anyone explain why this is happening and explain why it can not be fixed? I invite all suggestions and all grips about this problem.

Maybe you should try
• Smart Explorer 5.1
Shareware $19.95 . November 15, 2001 | 768 kb . Windows 95/98/2000/NT .
Smart Explorer is a fast web browser enhancement to Internet Explorer. SE kills popup ads, filters multimedia downloads, allows for browsing in multiple windows, and has the top search engines built in, allowing for searches of multiple sites at once.

Thank you for the suggestion PAnderson. I have tried out Smart Explorer for the past couple of days and I really like it. As a web application programmer, it is nice to know that I can have all of the cool features that Smart Explorer provides plus its content will render just as it does in IE. I highly recommend this browser.

TWillard,

Did you find a solution to this problem?

My IE 6.0 is behaving the same way as yours and I couldn't find anything like this on the net.

Thanks,
Alex

I had the same issue that was driving me crazy. Lots of people with the same problem but no solution. I ended up spending a lot of time on the net searching and discovered that it is caused by spyware! I had recently downloaded IMesh upon recommendation and this would seem to be one of the culprits amongst others.

I already had a copy of Ad-Aware and used this to remove multiple instances of spyware from my machine.

Worked for me! Let me know if it helps.

It didn't work for me, but thanks anyway.

I found out where was the problem. I removed all items on Internet Options->Content->Certificates.

One of them was causing this, but I don't know which one exactly.
