I have a user who has a bunch of different SMTP addresses. When he tried to send an Email using one (not default reply) it bounces back:
You can't send a message on behalf of this user unless you have permission to do so. Please make sure you're sending on behalf of the correct sender, or request the necessary permission. If the problem continues, please contact your helpdesk.

The reply address will always be used by Outlook. If you want to send using a different address you need to jump through a few hoops but it is entirely possible.

Create a MAPI connection to the mailbox using the alternate address. You should then see a From button at the top of the compose screen in Outlook. Click that button and choose the alternate email address to send from.

I hope that helps.

Regards,

Mark
