WE have one passport 8600 switch with stacks of 5510's and 450 switch.

Across our lan we run TV application that uses multicast streams. THis stream drops in and out at regular intervals. Some poeople may be able to recive it while somebody else in the same switch cannot.

Does anyone know what the best settings are for the IGMP configuration.

Thanks in advance

Configure a routing protocol on the 8600. Normally it isn't needed, but it will give the best results.

On the baystack portfolio:
What you should do, enable igmp proxy/snooping. But also configure the router ports, that are the uplinks going towards 8600.
Don't forget to select version 2. Since most applications will be using that version of igmp.

Also make sure that you're not running into a CP limiter. Each port, if CP-Limit is enabled, will have a mcast and bcast limit threshold. Exceed that...and the port could bounce or the stream could stop.
