Hi

I have been experiencing some slow response and time outs when uploading files onto the Internet. A quick research pointed out to the path MTU of the routers between my host and the remote Web Site. I got a tool to check the MTU and it reveals that my two routers before the firewall are on 1500 and my firewall running on Solaris is on 576. If I do an ifconfig -a it shows that the MTU is 1500. Is it possible to set the MTU in Checkpoint to 1500 or does anyy one have any ideas I could try to increase the upload response.

Regards
G

The MTU is strictly an interface setting. Checkpoint does not touch the packet until after the interface has processed the packet. So either your tool, or the Solaris box is incorrect. Considering your having issues uploading files, im putting my money on Solaris is at fault.
