MTS and NT Services

I'm having trouble using an MTS component from NT Service I have written. CreateInstance() passes fine, but whenever I try to call any one of the class's functions, an 'unknown' COM exception is thrown. When using this component from an ordinary C++ program everything runs smoothly.
What is the difference ?
