MTA DAT files

Hi
I have about 140 dat files in the MTA directory. Is that normal for about 150 users, on Exchange 5.5 Sp4. What are they for?

Not worried. Just curious. The backup skips these files and we are using NTBackup so it waits 30 seconds on each file. No big deal though.

Stop backing up your Exchange Folders since this will never be able to restore if the server was running. Also don't scan this with Anti-virus. Dan
