Hello,
I currently use veritas netbackup to perform our backups, but we utilize gnu tar to recover at our hotsite (faster that way). This is the first year we are attempting to use our IBM ultrium gen1 drives for this recovery. We ran into an issue with the mt status command. It returns a -1 for the block and file values after a rewind of the LTO drive?? If we perform this same command on a DLT drive it returns a 0 value as it should. Has anyone else ran into this issue?? We can perform a dd command and read the info on the tape. But one of our recovery scripts uses the mt status command for variable information. Thanks for any help!
