mt command !!!

How can I get two separate directories copied one after another onto my tape on two different dates (Mine is 8mm tape drive.)

What is the tar cvf /dev/rmt0 command with no rewind ?

Are there any options with mt commnad to check status on the 2nd block of data with no rewind.

/dev/rmt0.1 is the no-rewind device for /dev/rmt0
