"The MIcrosoft Jet database engine could not find the object "MSysDb". Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and the path name correctly."
I would assume this to be a very critical error. I would suggest that you make a backup copy, then do a compact/repair of the database and see if that fixes the error. If not, create a new, empty database and import all the objects from the failing database into the new database.
Unfortunatley, I am totally locked out. I have tried the shift key to bypass the code. I created a copy of the datbase and renamed it but it still gives me the same error I also tried importing the files into a new database no luck.
The idea is to do a backup before doing anything else to the database. That opportunity is already gone.
But I don't see where you did a compact and repair. So, open Access by itself, that is without opening a Database. Then, using the menu/options do a Tools/Database Utilities/Compact and Repair Database... This will let you pick the database to compact and repair, then give it a new name for the output. If that does not work, then I would say you are at the point of starting from scratch. I would suggest you call Microsoft support to see if they might have any other possibilities, but I doubt it.
Thanks so much Vic. I will try the compact and repair suggestion. Fortunately, I had a copy of the database from last night so at least I am able to recover from yesterday.
