Hi,

I have 2 MSX servers being backed up by a 3rd server which is running Arcserve 2000, service Pack 4.

One of the MSX servers (server A) is an existing server that was installed as MSX 5.5 and upgraded to MSX 2000. I am using the Arcserve agent to do Information Store backups on this system sucessfully.

But the other MSX server (server B) is a new MSX 2000 server that I built from scratch -- but I cannot get the IS backup to work. Jobs always "Fail" immediately aftyer start.

My issue is that when I browse my Backup Manager and look under the Agent for "Server A", I can see an object for "Microsoft Information Store", which expands to "First Storage Group" etc.
But for "Server B", there is an object called "Microsoft Exchange Server". This object does not expand, and there is no way to select any public/private folders...not is there anyway to set agent options.

I have tried to remove/reinstall the agent from "Server B", but this has not helped. So I am currently unable to do any IS backup on "Server B". Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

If you get an answer to this let me know, I have the same issue. New server built from scratch.

Follow the following steps.

1)Uninstall the arcserve backup agent for MS Exchnage on the exchnage server

2)Download Sp3 from the URL given below,

3) Use winzip and Extract Sp3 .
4) After its extracted you will have a folder called Exchnage.DBA
5) Use setup under the exchange.DBA folder and install the agent
6) Then apply sp4 for exchange agent

This is basically a version problem.
Do the following and get rid of it.

This has to fix your problem.
