I am having problems shutting down a Windows 98 system. I think the problem is mswheel. If I do ctrl Alt Delete and close mswheel and then click on a shut down icon I created, the system will shut down. Command line for the icon reads:C:\windows\rundll.exe,exitwindows. What is the command that I can add to the command line above that will close mswheel?

You might also want to look at the FAQ covering shutdown problems. It has good info. Ed Fair

If running win98. Go to find/files key in msconfig. uncheck anything associated with mswheel. You do not need this running in background. That should solve your problem.
