MSW07 insert mark hides intermittently

Using Word 2007 during the last week I have been annoyed frequently when the flashing indicator which points out my place on the page (Print Layout Mode) hides itself.

It comes back after a while, but I cannot identify what makes it go away or what makes it come back.

Any ideas anyone?

Hi OfficeAnimal,

The indicator you're referring to is the 'Insertion Point'. There are various possibilities, including:
1. The Insertion Point has been scrolled off-screen (eg you've scrolled to another page without moving the Insertion Point).
2. Your mouse driver is configured to hide the Insertion Point while typing - it should re-appear once you stop typing. You can change this setting via the Windows Control Panel.
3. Your display driver isn't working correctly. If so, there may be an update avaialbe from the maker of your display card.
