MSVCRT.DLL. and MFC42.DLL.

I am using Windows Millenium now but had the same problem with Windows 98 V2.
When using Corel Photopaint 9, the programme is shut down with the following two messages-neither of which gives reasons.

1. Photopaint has caused an error in MSVCRT.DLL.
Photopaint will now close.

2. Photopaint has caused an error in MFC42.DLL.
Photopaint will now close.


I only have one version of each of these two files on my computer in C\Windows\System


MSVCRT.DLL. Version 6.1.8637.0
MFC42.DLL. Version 6.0.8665.0


Neither Corel nor Microsoft offer any valid explanation or solution except to blame one another for the problem.

Any ideas ?

I am having the same problem with photopaint. Did you find an answer?

Yes I found the answer....after getting no real help from either Corel or Microsoft, I have removed the product from my computer.
