I am not able to open the Service Manager so that I can start and stop the service from that. Instead I am doing it through the Windows Services.

When I click on the Service manager, it is not initialising or opening and does not return a error message, but the mstr service is running.

Is it the problem with the installation or the path?

thanks

The Service Manager checks if it is already running or not. This means that if you terminal-service into a Server, you will have two sessions open and Service Manager will not show up in your session. I tried to have them change the behavior, but they won't! :-(
Check if the "MASVRMAN.exe" (in pre-7.5 release; javaw.exe in 7.5 and later) process is running on the machine. If it is, then another session is already running Service manager. If it is not, then.... Post something back here! :)

FLB,

I checked and Javaw.exe is not running in the I-Server machine, but still I could not open the service window.

Then, I restarted the I-server machine itself and I am now able to open the Service Manager and I can see the Icon with the green tick mark on the bottom corner of the server machine. I could not actually tell what changed, but I think some settings which I did while configuring the I-Server Instance definitions could have caused it.

thanks FLB.
