I have admin rights to MM but wanted to get to the MSS server. Is there a generic user name and password that is created at the time of build ?

When you say admin rights to MM what do you mean? To the MAS? How do you add and remove mailboxes if you can't log on to the MSS? Are you using Mailbox Manager?

The MSS has a SA and VM log in but the passwords are not generic and must be added at time of install or by a craft or dadmin login.

I can add user in the MSS, what i am looking for is to remote into the box as you would a windows box and look at the alarms, tape usage, etc... I do have the SA and VM password but when i try to remote in using say Putty it does not work .

RDP to the MAS, and open a web browser and put in the MSS address from there...

Thanks,
CJH

craftppp is what is used for modem access. But to use putty you need a command line login. craft dadmin root tsc are all ones that will work but it sounds like who ever installed it did not give you the log in for them. But if you do not know what you are doing you should not be in it.

Tell you maint provider you want a login for it.
