Hi all,

I am using Windows XP, and had MS Office version for it. Now the client requires Office 2000, so I tried to uninstall Office-XP and install Ofice-2k.

Installation went thru successfully, but my Word doesn't open. It just hangs. Access & frontpage work fine.

I noticed that under 'Program files\Microsoft Office' there is a folder by name 'Office10', with some DLLs. I tried to remove them, and only MSOHEV.dll could not be removed... because 'it was being used'.

I unregistred that DLL, and tried to register the DLL with the same name from the 'Program files\Microsoft Office\Office' folder. But I got an error saying: The MSOHEV.dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer Entry point was not found.

What does that mean? Has anyone encountered such a problem with Down-grading Office? Any advice?

TIA,
Sheila

Unregister the dll
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10>Regsvr32 /u msohev.dll

Kill explorer.exe in the task bar

delete the file
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10>del msohev.dll

Start the explorer
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10>C:\Windows\explorer.exe
