I got an email from Msoft letting me know that you can get "exam insurance" now. On msoft's website is also talks about exam insurance. If you sign up for an exam with the insurance and fail you get a free retake. If you sign up for insurance and pass you can use the credit for 25% off your next test. Sounds to good to be true.

I am unclear how this works. It say on the website "find an exam insurance testing location near you" and has a list of Cert testing centers. Is the insurance offered through Msoft or through the testing center.

Most testing centers that have prep classes offer free test retakes for people who fail to make their completion ratio look better.

I don't want to have to take classes at a testing center to get a free retake, is this what I have to do to take advantage of the "Exam Insurance"

I've got no idea. The email and web site leave me with more questions than answeres as well.

I'm going to try to call a testing center today and see what's up. I'll post when I do.

This seems like something you buy from Pearson Vue or Thomson Prometric. And then present it when you sign up for the test.

I think it is like microsofts second chance deal they had a few months ago, except you get it through the test company when you sign up instead of Msoft.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

According to the web site you don't buy it form Pearson Vue or Prometric. You buy it directly from the testing centers listed on the web site.

I talked to Pearson Vue today. They told me you buy it from them and present it at any testing center that uses pearson vue for its testing centers.

Msoft only has a handful of testing centers on its website and yes they do make it seem like you buy it from the testing center. Pearson vue told me otherwise thought. Their second change voucher is good for all of their testing centers regardless of the name of the testing centers.

Did they happen to say the price of the insurance (and what country that price is for)?

Well near me (in MI) New Horizons has it at $170.Thats the cost of the exam and insurance. If you pass it,you get 25% off you're next paid one,if you fail you get the retake

Assuming that acefactor717's quote is consistent in the US, this is not a bad deal.

If you book an exam for $170 (with insurance) and fail, then pass on the retake, you'd save $80.

If you book an exam for $170 (with insurance) and pass, then take 25% off of $125 for your next exam, you're only out $13.75 more than you would have paid for the 2 exams.

Basically the cost of the insurance is $13.75 if acefactor717's information is correct. Prices may vary by region/country, but insurance for under $20 seems like a good deal to me.
