MSO outlook 2003 - two problems - wrong # of mail and . ..

I am running xp and using MS office 2003 - first i dont have problem getting mail only sending it and sending sometimes works. When i send mail (send/Rec) in the lower right corner it says sending 1 of 3, but i know i only have 2 emails in my out box, then i get the error message 0x80042109 - NOTE - I still have 2 emails in my outbox and ust tried to send them and in the lower riht corner it now says sending 1 of 1 - odd.

I tried to use another help site and i read that it might be a case of port 25 being blocked and i should try port 5190 - no change in error.

Please let me know if you have a fix or if its just me.
