I have two pc's that are connected on a peer to peer network. when i try to connect messenger with the pc that is not directly connected to the internet the messenger says that it is connecting but it never does. If you go into the properties then it says that it is connected.

p.s i am using ics on my win2k machine that is connected directly to my dsl modem.

i am using two nic's one is a connection to the modem and the other is acting like a router.

what can i do?

Jason

Have you looked at the connection options on the MSN properties page.

On your Windows 2000 ICS machine, you can enable certain ports and protocols for Windows to allow traffic through to client machines. I suggest trying to enable different ports and protocols, or even trying to create your own.

Are you using Professional or Server as the ICS server machine? If you're using Server, I would suggest using RRAS to enable routing of traffic from the DSL connection to your clients.

Hope this was helpful.
