msn messenger an older version?

Seems All users who are using msn on our domain are now getting that lovely message that MSN is an older version, you must install the latest version to login.

This is stupid on too many levels.

The users are not admins so obviously they cant install...
Why cant they use the version they have...

Another good reason to use Trillian...

Antone know how to avoid this? And get around the 7 things you have to uncheck before installing?

I believe the older version is being, or is going to be, blocked from logging on to Microsoft Servers for security reasons, these are corrected in the latest version of Windows Live Messenger.
