I've got a XP PC with Outlook Express(6) installed, there are no desktop, taskbar quick-launch or file folder shortcuts/icons for it. At the moment it is being started by going to the mail option in IE6, from where it works fine.

If I put the default MSIMN.EXE path into the run command it starts from there fine to, but if I browse to the folder which should contain the MSIMN.EXE programme to create a new short-cut, I find that MSIMN.EXE isnt in the folder? (view all file types is selected).

Any Ideas how I can get an outlook express icon onto my desktop and/or taskbar quicklaunch?

Thanks.

So your copy & paste this into the Start, Run dialog it will work, but if you copy & paste into the desktop right-click, New shortcut it doesn't work???
C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe

Franklin97355 - I am viewing hidden file types.

Smah - I went to the OE folder expecting to find MSIMN.EXE, so that I could create a shortcut of it & then drag it onto the desktop(I didn't realise you could do it another way) - but it isn't there? I appreciate that this doesn't make any sense, hence my question.

I will try your method of shortcut creation.

Thnaks guys.
