I am having a problem with msiexec when I try to update an administrative install point with a service pack.
Microsoft's website tells me that this should work:-
msiexec /p c:\officexpsp2\officesp2.msp /a \\server\officexp\std.msi SHORTFILENAMES=TRUE /qb
however, as I also looked up applying a service pack to Project 2003, Microsoft's website tells me:-
msiexec /p \\server\project2003\proj.msi /a c:\kb832887\project.msp SHORTFILENAMES=TRUE /qb
I have tried both and with both I get an error message telling me that there are "Invalid command line parameters".
I have tried setting drive labels to the \\server\ but this had no effect.
I have tried taking out the shorfilenames parameter but also to no effect.
Can anyone spot an error or give me some suggestions as to the problem?
The server that this is on is windows 2000.
