MSI Packaging and Non MSI programs 1

Im having issues trying to create .msi files to have deployed throughout our citrix farm.

Packaging them up with the SMS Installer (from SMS2003) has worked successfully as an .exe but if trying the .msi it always fails.

Anyone know of an easy way to simply create an .msi file that just references a .exe??

You can use a Wrapper. It basically makes an MSI that will launch a command. You can make it launch your EXE with all the proper switches.

The one I use is WIWW (Windows Installer Wrapper Wizard). It's pretty straight forward and doesn't need a lot of work to understand.. it's basically a wizard:
