Hi I have some pc that have max sercurity turn on so user can not install and apps.

I have a legacy application the contains 3 .exe files. 1 of the .exe files staets 2 services and rights to the registary certain varibles.

I have put the 3 exe files in to an msi file and set custom actions to excute the .exe in the corect order and pass certain switches to them.

I have packaged this and made sure the app installs ok

I am wondering if the machins with full security will allow this to install as it is not really the msi doing all the work it is relly the exe files inside the msi that are starting the services and writting to the reg

Does anyone have any thoughts on this

If you assign the app to the computer to install at startup it should install with local system privilages.

thanks I was hoping it would install with local admin privlliges

I will test tomorrow on a machine

Thanks

You shouldn't manually remove assigned apps you should unassigned it and reboot the computer.

ok thanks

I thought if you had one pc that you wanted to remove it from it would be ok I prsume then if you want to remove it from one pc you have to move it out of that OU

Thanks for advise
