I have just reinstalled ME and when inserting my usb stick in my hub the machine freezes and task manager shows the above message. I have tried swapping around the hub but no go. Device manager shows no problems with drivers. The hub is then dead until I re-boot. I have tried plugging in other devices and they all work. The stick works fine in the same hub when running Linux. Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Update all your USB drivers. If these are on-board ports the drivers will be part of the chip set drivers I expect, so update your chip set drivers also. Is this a powered hub?

Thanks Kestrel

Since posting this query I decided because ME was giving so many problems that I would install XP. This has resolved the problem.

ME always was a buggy OS. XP is better although not perfect. Make sure that you keep it upto date with the latest patches. SP2 made the OS alot better.
