Msg Waiting Light

I have a user complaining about the message waiting not working intermittently. His mailbox is 95 percent full. Will this cause the mwk not to work properly.

when i get that complaint, i out the box and put it back in.. then i don't have to ask the users to keep them clean.. i also auto delete all read msgs older then 7 days and unread older then 30 days...
