Msg : Service or Driver Failed

My pc starts up and o/s gets loaded in a normal way. but, as soon as
i click on any icons on the desktop, i get follwing Warning messege :-

*** Service Control Manager ***
At least one service or driver failed during system startup.
Use Event Viewer to examine the event log for details.

And when i see Event Viewer file, it has following description :-

Source :Service Control Manager
Description : The Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) service terminated with the following error: The system cannot find the path specified.

Source : smtpsvc
Description : The service metabase path '/LM/SMTPSVC/'
could not be opened. The data is the error code.

Source : w3svc
Description : The service metabase path '/LM/W3SVC/'
could not be opened. The data is the error code.


Please let me know, what is the actual problem and how to get rid of it ?
PC configuration : P III 850,128mb RAM, 20GB HDD
O/S : Windows Server 2000

It looks like an IIS/Proxy server problem, if you do not use IIS you could disable it or re-install it from add/remove componenets. It looks as though Windows is looking for the application but cannot find it.
