Msg light on MLX 20L

I've gone through the previous posts and learned a good bit about this issue but I still cannot get the message light to turn off on this phone. This is one of our operator extensions and it is transfer only. It should be getting messages as the general mailbox owner (set to extension 10 in the system, although it is extension 500. This works somehow). Here are some things I tried: swapped phones. reinitialized general mailboxes. Moved general mailbox owner to another ext. Cleared MWL system wide. Deleted/recreated extension 500. Interestingly, the message light works properly on the other phone when I assigned the general mailbox owner to that extension. When I put the phone in test mode, the message light does toggle on/off using the keypad. Also, I could not get the light to turn off using #*53 500. Another interesting note is that I tried this method to turn on the light at another phone. I did turn it on but #*53 ext # doesn't turn that light off either.

On the 20L, touch menu, messages, delete msg.

That worked!! I saw that in a previous post but dismissed because I didn't see the Menu key at the top of the phone. I didn't think it had one. I'll make a note of this. Thanks Tom! You're an asset to this forum.
