MSG indicator delayed, sometimes for hours

This problem may be system-wide or only a single user. I have just the one ongoing complaint, but that is not definitive.

Deskset is M7310
Voicemail is Norstar Flash 4

The user in question has a direct extension and also a private line (terminology?) tied to her extension.

If someone dials her extension and leaves a voice message, her deskset quickly displays "Message for you" and "MSG".

However, if someone calls her private line and leaves a voice message, the deskset may not show any indication of a waiting message for several hours.

Can anyone suggest a fix for this?

Strange how it matters how it's left.
Private line would be right if it's just their line.

I would try a reboot of the voice mail and or both system.

Also check both versions of software to make sure they are fully compatible with each other or you get quirks like this.
