can a msfc card router traffic between different networks or only to different vlan>?

I guess I'd consider a different vlan the same thing as a different network. Unless I'm not understanding your question correctly.

im talking about having more than one vlan on a switch i know that the mfc card can route packet to the other vlans but what about other network outside the firewall?

You can treat it just like any other router. All just depends on how you want it to route. Via Static, ospf, eigrp, etc.

Thanks.. ok so is the mfc card located in the supervisor or is it separate?

It depends on what Supervisor engine you have... Is it a SUP-1A, SUP-2, or the SUP-720?

Log into the switch and do the following:

xxxxxxxxx#show modu
xxxxxxxxx#show module
Mod Ports Card Type Model Serial No.
