Hi @all,
We have a Windows 2000 exchange cluster (Exchange 2000 Enterprise) and we lost some calendar entries. So I try to restore an old information store to a different server.
Backup Server:
srv01010 (not clustered)
Cluster:
srv01003, srv01004 = cluster nodes
srv01009 = virtual exchange server
We use Legato 6.2 and the exchange module (V3.1).
I cannot use the backup server for restore because it is our print server (Don't beat me, the customer said they want save money).
I installed a workstation to be the temporary backup server with the original name (srv01010). I set up another server (srv01009) with windows 2000 Advanced Server, SP2, Exchange 2000 Enterprise (SP3) and created a domain with the name of the original one.
After that I created the organisation in exchange and the administrative group and named them like on the productive server. I also created the different storage groups and mailbox stores with the right name.
I copied the whole networker program dir to the temporary backup server, set up the library and tried a restore of the IS.
The last message I get is, that the target database can be overwritten. That's all. There are now error messages on the client nor on the server nor in eventlog.
I think the problem is, that we use a standalone server for restore and not a cluster?
Do I have to restore SYSTEM STATE?
Do I have to name the exchange server srv01003 and do a directed restore?
Thank you very much for help!!!
