MSExcel and ASP webpage

I need some serious help. I'm doing a webpage and the client is a die-hard excel fan and will not switch on over to MSAccess. The file in which I have is in excel and it is formatted already with the headers of each column set and everything. What I need to do is manipulate it and put it up on the webpage with a search function for each data and a sorting for info within records. I don't know how to do this. I have heard of an Excel database driver of somesort but i don't really know anything about it. I use MSExcel 2002 and or MSExcel X, whichever one is easier for you to help me with. Leads to webpages, books, or any other source of media is EXTREMELY HELPFUL.
