I've a client using MSDOS & PCNFS on PCs to do NFS mounting to a Sun Solaris 2.x system. The client requires more PCs with the similar setup, however, PCNFS products are EOL. It is not possible for the client to change to Windows based at the moment. What is the best alternate solution ?

I can think of the following options :
Option 1 : Look for althernate NFS product for MSDOS ? Any ?
Option 2 : Sun Solaris running some software/protocol to share file to MSDOS ?
Option 3 : Netware & NT file server running NFS protocol ?

1 - PCNFS is the best
2 - samba(NT SMB/CIFS Emulator) mars (Netware emulator)
2 - Netware - not sure , NT - MS UNIX Toolkit (payware)

I would use Samba on the Solaris box, the then use the MS-DOS network client on the PCs. (This is available from Microsofts Web Site).
