MSDE MDF File Size and Date Modified 1

Hi

I have an application installed on a client's server with a MSDE2000 database.

I can see the size of the daily back up file of the main database changes and when I query the data I can see new data is being written to it.

However when I look at the .mdf file in Windows Explorer it has a 'date modified' of 11th March 2008 and the reported size of the mdf file in Windows Explorer does not seem to have changed. As I state the backup file size does change and I can see data being written.

Any ideas why the reported date modified and size of the .mdf file does not seem to be changing?
