What are the main differences between MSDE and
SQL Server?

I would like to know how many concurrent users
can the MSDE engine support on the web?

Thanks

MSDE is like the standard edition without the client applications.
It will support any number of users but is governed to slow down at more than 5 concurrent workloads. In a web environment where you would normally call a very short SP then disconnect it can cope with many users.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.
