Hi,

I have just set up a 2 node active/passove cluster and am testing it out.

The cluster set up fine in cluster administrator.

I wanted to test it, so I wrote some files to the shared storage. I then failed over to node 2. when I look at the shared storage on node 2, I dont see the files that I have written to the shared storage from node 1. Anyone seen this? When I fail back to node 1, they are there again.

thanks

West

Are you absolutely sure that the shared storage is pointing to the same LUN's?

Neill

Thanks for your answer.

Its in a vmware environment. Ive set up the cluser using the Vmware MSCS guidline doc using a virtual disk as shared storage.

Both nodes are on the same physical esx host.
The shared storage is a virtual disk.
Both nodes are configured through SCSI (1:1) to the shared storage.

I have checked the SCSI disk device properties on both nodes.
They both match showing:

Bus Number 0, Target ID 1, LUN 0

Can you post the contents of the vmware config file for each VM in the cluster please..

If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions?

Were the drives zero'd out and did you setup the private network for heartbeat? Also, did you create 2 shared disks? one for Quorum and one for data?

Yes , I will do that tomorrow, thanks for offering to take a look

Yes, I used VMKFSTOOLS command at the service console to create and zero out the vdisks.

Yes, I created the private network on its own vswitch away from the public network.

Yes, there are 2 shared disks configured. The quorom and the data. The Qourom is set to SCSI (1:0) and the data is SCSI (1:1). I am thinking of trying the data drive on another LSI controller to make data disk SCSI (2:0).

ok, thanks will do.
